In an effort to provide information to those who are homeless in the three largest urban areas of our state, we have gathered some resources to aid those who find themselves without a place to live. This list will be updated as more information becomes available.
St. Louis, MO
St. Louis County residents who are homeless or experiencing a housing crisis can seek assistance by calling the Emergency Shelter Hotline. The Hotline is a centralized intake and referral system that can be accessed by calling a single number (314-802-5444). The caller is interviewed by an intake specialist, and if in crisis, is referred to either emergency shelter or rent/mortgage/utility assistance. The Hotline is the result of a collaboration between the City of Saint Louis and Saint Louis County, who jointly fund the program.
The City of St. Louis also has resources for individuals who are homeless available through their website.
Kansas City, MO
Saveinckc.org administers the Housing Assistance Program (HAP) as well as additional programs for individuals with medical and other challenges. The Housing Assistance Program (HAP) serves low income and disabled people living in the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area. The HAP provides information on housing options, emergency housing, transitional housing and rental subsidy programs for qualifying candidates. Participants of the HAP must meet medical disability requirements and be referred to the program by their case manager.
Homeless Coalition Services of Greater Kansas City provides information to those in need of emergency, transitional, and/or long-term housing.
Raytown Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) provides help for those who are struggling to make ends meet.
The vision of the Springfield Affordable Housing Center was to establish a community-based housing office that would offer a one-stop housing and homeless prevention service center and that would provide a centralized access point for available affordable housing and homeless prevention resource information, eligibility screenings and referrals
